This is the form the listing I found links to for the 2027 intake. Its file name says “2026”, so confirm with the Trust that it is the current version. You can email them at [email protected] or call 011 574 7000.

What Is the KN Inzuzo Trust Bursary?

The Kuehne+Nagel Inzuzo Trust is the company’s South African empowerment vehicle. It invests in the education and entrepreneurial development of young South Africans, focusing on logistics and business fields. Kuehne+Nagel is a global logistics company, and the Trust’s bursary supports students working toward careers in that industry.

This bursary is for students who are already at university. First-year students are not funded. The Trust backs students entering second year, third year or postgraduate study. Funding for continuing students is harder to find than first-year funding, and many capable students struggle to pay for later years. That makes this bursary valuable.

Who Can Apply?

You must meet all of these requirements. You must be a South African citizen, a Black female student, and have completed Matric. You must also be:

  • Studying full-time at a recognised, accredited South African university
  • Enrolled in 2027 for second year, third year or postgraduate study
  • Averaging at least 60 percent in your most recent year of study
  • In financial need, with a strong academic record and leadership experience in school, university or community activities

Students with disabilities are welcome to apply.

Qualifications Funded

The bursary covers these qualifications:

  • BCom in Logistics
  • Diploma in Logistics Management
  • BCom in Transport Economics
  • BCom in Accounting
  • BCom in Financial Management
  • BCom in Information Systems

If your degree is not on this list, you are unlikely to qualify. Ask the Trust before you spend time on an application.

What Does It Cover?

The bursary contributes to tuition and related study expenses, and the money is paid directly to your university. You will not receive it as cash. The exact value is confirmed during the application process, so it depends on your costs. Do not assume it covers everything.

Documents You Need

This is the longest part of the application, so gather everything first. The list is:

  1. The completed application form
  2. A copy of your ID
  3. A recent passport-sized photo
  4. Your Matric certificate
  5. Your full university academic record from first year onwards
  6. Proof of acceptance or provisional acceptance, on university letterhead
  7. Certificates for any academic, leadership, sport or entrepreneurial awards
  8. A signed and stamped reference letter from a teacher or lecturer
  9. A financial statement or quote from your university for tuition, books and accommodation, on letterhead
  10. Proof of your parents’ or guardian’s household income. This can be payslips, an affidavit if unemployed, a pension slip or proof of a SASSA grant.
  11. Proof of your parents’ or guardian’s residence
  12. A CV of no more than four pages

Tip: The reference letter and the university financial statement usually take the longest. Ask for both today.

How to Apply, Step by Step

  1. Check that you meet every requirement, especially the 60 percent average.
  2. Download the application form using the link above.
  3. Fill in every section. Do not leave blanks.
  4. Gather your supporting documents.
  5. Scan everything into one clear file.
  6. Email it to [email protected] with the subject line “KN Inzuzo Trust Bursary 2027”.
  7. Or hand deliver it to Busi Mabena, The Kuehne+Nagel Inzuzo Trust, 9 Nguni Drive, Longmeadow West Business Park, Edenvale.
  8. Keep a full copy for your records.

Email is the better option for most people. It is instant, it works from any province, and it gives you a sent record.

Important Dates

StageDate
Applications close18 October 2026
InterviewsNovember to December 2026
Awards announcedJanuary 2027

The interviews and the January announcement come from one listing. The 2026 form gave a March announcement date for the previous round. Treat the dates as approximate and ask the Trust to confirm.

Tips for a Stronger Application

These are my suggestions, not requirements from the Trust.

  • Keep your file readable. Scan at good quality and put the pages in the order of the checklist above.
  • Use your CV to show leadership. Include society roles, tutoring, volunteering, sport, small businesses and community work. The Trust asks for leadership evidence, so make it easy to find.
  • Explain your financial need clearly. If your parents or guardians are unemployed, include the affidavit. Missing income proof is a common reason for rejection.
  • Choose your referee carefully. Pick a lecturer or teacher who knows your work well and ask early, because the letter must be signed and stamped.
  • Use a professional email address. Something like your name, not a nickname.
  • Prepare for the interview. Be ready to explain why you chose your field, what you want to do after graduating, and why you need the funding. Knowing what Kuehne+Nagel does helps.
  • Check your email regularly. Interview invitations will probably come by email, so look at your spam folder too.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Applying as a first-year student
  • Submitting after the deadline
  • Sending several separate emails instead of one organised file
  • Leaving out financial documents
  • Using a wrong or unclear subject line
  • Assuming an application guarantees funding. The Trust decides awards at its own discretion.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can first-year students apply?
No. You need at least one full year of results.

Can I study at any university?
You can study at any recognised South African university, and email applications are accepted from anywhere in the country.

Does the bursary guarantee a job?
No, it does not include a guaranteed job. Still, the bursary is linked to a major logistics company, which can help when you look for internships or graduate roles in the industry.

Is there a fee to apply?
I found no mention of one. Be careful with anyone who asks for money to “secure” a bursary. Send your application only to the Trust’s own email address or delivery address.

Before You Submit

Most of the detail above comes from a single third-party listing, not from the Trust itself. Before you send your application:

  1. Email or call the Trust to confirm the closing date and the current form.
  2. Make sure your degree is on the list.
  3. Check that every document is attached.

Good luck with your application. If you would like, I can put this article in a Word document or turn it into a short checklist you can print.
